NURIT — JOSÉPHINE MARFURT

NURIT is a Swiss band that debuted in 2019. For the release of their EP “For Selma” I was asked to create a visual concept for their Instagram.

“For Selma” is a letter of the lead singer Nurit to the women in her family, who were all named Selma. We worked a lot with old pictures of these women, to celebrate them and to create a story. Since the music can’t really be placed in one category, but is often described as melancholic and spheric, the band and I wanted to build up on this and create the unexpected. So we worked with a mix between retro melancholia, using a lot of old pictures of the women and the band to create a story, a lot of irony and a bit of a clash in colour and motives.
